Maeng Da Kratom

As a high potency strain, Maeng Da delivers a punch.

It brings many of the pain relieving qualities expected of Kratom, but with a much bigger stimulating boost. However, unlike other stimulants, the energy boost doesn’t come with any jittery, unfocused side effects.

The details

Maeng Da was specifically created as a high potency red kratom strain in the humidity and heat of Indonesia. Similar to Bali Kratom, Maeng Da blends pain relief and energy into one. However, in order to beat the heat in Indonesia, this strain was made to provide a bigger kick in energy than Bali.

the difference

Because of it’s specifically bred for alkaloid properties, Maeng Da takes the normal pain relieving properties of a red strain and adds a nice energetic kick that some reds lack.

the science

Maeng Da Kratom was created using a technique called grafting, where tissues of different plants are joined together to breed different qualities of each plant into a new strain. In an effort to create a strain which maintains pain relief while mitigating sedative effects so it could be used during work in Indonesia, Maeng Da was born.

  1. Dr Francis? IF you really are a doctor, you picked the wrong line of work!!!! Take your judgement to another site. Unless you have dealt with addiction you have no idea.
As well as if someone takes a strong pain medication because of REAL problems that does not make them an addict! By Doctor! Your bedside manner doesn’t exists online so I can just imagine in person. Shame on you!!

    1. Kay do some research before you cut down the doctor I was on strong opioids for 4 years decided I wanted my life back i started taking Kratom I never had the first withdrawal symptom… And I’m in less pain than I was taking 40 mg of oxycodone a day

    1. since some of the alkaloids mimic opiods it could be that you get itchy from that because itchiness can be a side effect of opiods.

  2. I have been looking into Kratom now for some time , i was born with a rare condition called Xerocytosis . its enlarged spleen effects me on a daily basis, some days are better than others. i have been put on 2 types of Morphine a instant release and a long acting ..its been 10+ yrs now since i been on these meds, i dont want to be on them anymore, idk what kratom would work best , im still learning about it all, i wanna live a somewhat “normal” life … anyone have any info or help point me in the right direction . thanks in advance.

  3. I have a question , for many years I was on a fentynal patch. After a surgery the Dr said they could not give me anything more than what was in my system. I weaned off all but 15mg of morphine ER at night. My daughter had me try the meng da ,it really really really worked . I did not feel dopey or sleepy just no pain. They come 500 mcg in one capsule. It takes at least 4-5 of these capsules to help with the pain. The disease I have is not going to go away . I was so so happy to find I can relieve the pain without a narcotic. I looked at the sight that says don’t take more than 5 grams . I apologize for this in advance , the autoimmune disease can make the brain process a bit tricky. How many of the 500mcg is ok and what is too much ? Thankyou in advance

    1. Kratom capsules generally come in 0.5 gram dosages per capsule. That’s 500 milligrams, not 500 micrograms. The ‘mcg’ would be micrograms. Only super potent drugs like fentanyl or LSD are measured in mcg.

  4. Hmmm Fentanyl?? Much stronger then heroin.. My family member was on heroin anything he could get 100% drug addict we put him on suboxin for 2 weeks and it stopped his pain and sickness.. After we took him to a Dr ..the Dr put a chip in his arm that last 1 year and if he put a needle of heroin in … That chip is a blocker and prevents him from getting hign on anything ..i called it the Drug pellet and googled it my family member has been sober 16 years .. He overdosed 8 times died twice got a shot of narcan from the ambulance.. The chip pellet saved his life he has a wife and 2 kids now maybe it’s time to get serious and do the work and stop complaining sounds like someone still needs help .. What your doing is called DENIAL

    1. Dr. Francis, I’m not sure what your practice is. Maybe you could reread what Laura has said about having an autoimmune disease. I also have a rare autoimmune disease which caused severe vasculitis resulting in permanent polyneuropothy among other pain issues. I was using 250mcg of fantasy and an opiate with other anticonvulsant to keep various neurological conditions in check. I since have weaned myself off of fentanyl within 9 months by the grace of God & great support system. Maybe you might have a bit more compassion instead of making assumptions that one is an addict. Judging is not the help Laura asked for & personally I don’t hire my doctors to make moral judgments that’s my spiritual advisor’s position.

    2. Did anyone else notice that this “Dr.” has little need for proper grammar and seems either unable or unwilling to use punctuation in their public post? I am extremely skeptical of this person’s claims and I think everyone else would be well advised to assume this contributor is not a trained anything.

      1. Yeah, I doubt he is any kind of doctor, just pretending. Wonder if he even graduated high school judging by the poor grammar? 🤔

    3. Either English is not your first language or you are definitely not any kind of doctor. If you were, I imagine you would have studied English Comp. etc as part of your generals in college? Please stop lying! You are just an armchair mook passing judgement upon people you know nothing about. 👎

    4. You, dear Sir, are a judgemental dick and should not be trolling sites for people that are interested in helping one another. Your failure to grasp the most basic concepts of grammar and syntax along with the irrationally aggressive dishonesty indicate a true evolutionary failure exists on the other side of your keyboard. Perhaps gather some factual information and learn some basic compassion then come back and discuss your opinions like an adult.

  5. Hey all,

I’ve been in recovery for 14 years from alcohol and meth/coke. I haven’t used anything in all these years. I am suffering with back pain but am concerned about the chance of addiction to Kratom…thoughts, experience?

    1. Hi. I’m 8 1/2 years sober. I use kratom fairly regularly, and as long as you respect and dont let your junkie mind interfere..its great. Plus if you take too much..it hurts your stomach and over time you could experience hair loss. That said..put up dosage boundaries and utilize the medicine. If you feel great and try to take more to amplify that..it backfires. It has an intelligence that requires you to use it intelligently. Listen to your clean voice and be honest. The only withdrawal type symptoms I’ve had were jumpy legs if I go too many days with no break..like every day for 5 days straight..night 6 may be a little bothersome. Never ever take more than 10 grams in a 24 hor period..and you will develop a tolerance..so go small. Good luck!I’d go with red strains first…

        1. I take two table spoons morning, noon and night. But for night I prefer a Red Bali it’s more calming and relaxing. The Maeng Da is good during the day or at work. Everyone is different but this shit helped me kick opiates.

    2. To me kratom is very addictive but it’s the least harmful out of all the drugs. It makes me a way more productive person but it does have minor withdrawals.

  6. Hey sandy, sounds like you were exactly where I am… how much should I take to start? I have been taking 70-80mg of norco for 10 plus years and am tired of it controlling my life 😔

    1. I have been on Krotom for going on 3 years. I love it, but it controls me. I tried really hard not to go that path, but I lost control. I’m not going to lie I love the effect and it does exactly what it says. The withdrawals are a lot like Roxy withdrawals, but not as bad. I’ve went through methadone withdrawal as well. If you can maintain and take breaks from time to time or stay in control then it’s worth it.

      1. Having chronic pain can and will make your life miserable. You can’t have it all. Having to take something that works would actually save my life because I’m at a point of giving up! So just be thankful that you are able to get out of bed. I’m just now hearing of this and I’m praying to God it helps me 😢

        1. It will help, but do lots of homework on this beautiful herb. Don’t go desperately stumbling in, as I did, in January! Start with small doses.

        2. Julie – You’re right. Severe, chronic, daily pain has been wearing me down for years. My life revolves around this pain.

I just tried this Kratom for the first time a few hours ago, and it seems to really work.

Do not go gentle, Julie. Peace to you, sister.

  7. Thank you for all your responses. I have been on 90mg of MS Contin and 120 mg oxycodone a day for three years after 2 major back surgeries. It doesn’t work anymore so I have to take more and then run out before I can get more. I just got my Kratom 15 minutes ago and started with 3 capsules of red maeng da. Any suggestions?

  8. On 10mg Norcos for years, tired of the pain and not wanting to take more. Started taking Kratom
MAENGDA….stopped norcos…no side effects of withdrawls…energy levels shot up and the Maengda strain does help with pain…
Shocked as to why people are not using this to get off.opiods..best of luck all.

    1. My order is receiving today.M off dope now,but using suboxone from last year.Hope Kratom would help me…to get out from (buphenorphine-2,naloxone0.5 !) 4:1

        1. i had been on norco 10 for years due to back issues used kratom to get off those succesfully then was diagnosed with throat cancer was on fentanyl 125 mcg patch and back on norco 10 @ 8 a day used the kratom to get off those without the methadone or sub then was diagnosed with lung cancer im at this piont controlling any discomfort i have now with kratom no opiods what so ever,by the way im doing really well lol,im a believer and familiar with most strains wish you the best!!!

        2. It will. I’m on opioids too due to a back injury. I tried the red Bali, no withdraws, and didn’t even feel the need for any pain meds. Definitely helped with pain, sleep, and restless legs

  9. I got on suboxone after taking oxycontin and loritab 10s up to 10 a day. I’ve went down the rabbit hole several times with trying to get off all of it. I’ve ran out of my subs a day or two before… Suprisingly it got me by for a few days…im a believer now

    1. If it’s possible for you to email me if love to talk to you. I’m a shooter as well for many years and I would love to be able to clean up, the withdrawal is what I’m worried about and keeping me from sobriety. If your taking these and it’s honestly working for you I’d love to know more about it! Or call me 636-253-2436 Thank you

      1. Good luck man. Not a shooter but definitely an addict and just took my first 2 kratoms. I need to be normal with energy to keep up with my kids! I’m praying for the best after years of dependence.

  10. I’m on suboxone and want to get off it can I start kratom, while still on subs or does it block the effects of kratom too ,will I go into withdrawal..respectfully,and co concerned

    1. You will feel kind of crappy for a couple days but once that’s over kratom has saved me from subs. I’ve been clean over two months with kratom and it keeps me going while helping me feel somewhat normal. You won’t regret it. Ease into it, you will feel ali crappy as the subs leave, but after the minor withdrawal you’ll be feeling and sleeping good.

        1. I just did this after being on oxy for 6years like 80mg or more a day and still having pain, I bought this at my local smoke shop, and I have no withdrawal and no pain at all, I highly recommend this product!!!!!

        2. I was taking a minimum of 240mg – 300mg daily of oxycodone and had been on it for 13 years. I was in full abuse mode and would always have to spend thousands of dollars buying off the street after running out each month of my RX to get me to my next fill date because of my abuse.

Trust me I know the completely helpless and terrifying feeling that comes with withdrawal. Bottom line is Kratom works if you truly want to get off oxy. It works. I now have hope for the first time in a long time. Also, my life is no longer filled with the opiate game.

        3. I came off of pills years ago when Kratom just was hitting the market in the United States. I’m a firm believer and I tell everyone about it. I had almost no withdrawal symptoms

        4. Hi Her, I used Kratom to get off opiates after back surgery and it worked so well. I quit Norco on a Friday and started Kratom on Saturday. I then tapered off of the Kratom and now I use it when I need it. The stuff is gold to me!! Good luck!

    2. I’m on Methadone and I started taking KRATOM 1week ago along with the methadone, I don’t know how much I’ve dropped but it’s considerable. I’m taking about a quarter of my normal dose. I do get a little uncomfortable but nothing I can’t handle. If it gets to be to much I just take a sip. I’m getting off this methadone and I thank God for KRATOM. I’m also taking CBD oil. 1vile x a day, it helps also. I’m already sleeping better than I have in years. Don’t be afraid of it. Good luck.

    3. I’ve done it before but usually try and wait atleast 6 or 7 hours and I’ve never went into withdrawal I think because it attaches to the opiod receptor so weakly if you still have subuxone on your receptor it’s not strong enough to knock it off the receptor causing withdrawals but it def works I’ve alternated between the two alot

    4. Yes it can block it there was a case on Jan 4th 2019 where a women ended up in a er with respitory depression due to opiod toxidomy they gave her some naloxone and it pulled her out. They stated the toxidomy was do to kratom wouldnt be surprised to know thats more like a half truth most people who end up in a er over “kratom” typically are using something else weither heorin or pills very few cases have been strictly kratom and the ones that ive seen about just kratom solely have been at such high concentrations or mixed with other biotanicals. Hope this helps a little now i just got to make note that naloxone pulled her out of it so its not definitive that it will actually block, i take subutex do to being allergic to naloxone but when i tried suboxone for 2 weeks i could take a narco and still get the effects so i dont believe naloxone actual blocks it from my experience it just draw it out of your body quicker.

    5. I got off of sub with kratom. Best thing to do is try to ween yourself down over a few weeks. Then start the kratom but it won’t hurt to do them at the same time.

    6. I was on Fentanyl patch and Hydrocodone for over 10 years. I have numerous painful diseases. When the so called “guidelines” were put out there by the CDC my doctors suddenly switched me off of both and stuck me on Suboxone. It will help with your pain, they said. Well, the way I see it is if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, let’s be honest and call it a motherf*cking duck. The duck that really doesn’t help with pain, but your body becomes addicted to, and the withdrawals are worse coming off of that than any other drug. I am 51 days off of the Suboxone, thanks to Kratom, and I will never take anything else for my pain. My future has me spending time with my grandkids and that in and of itself is worth the fight
