56. Injuries, Pain, Cancer, Heart Attack, Endometriosis, Suicide Attempt: A Survival Story w/ Amanda Marie
/

Amanda Marie is a farmer and construction worker living in New Mexico. She had been severely injured due to a skating accident when she was 13, and later a car accident for which she developed lifelong chronic pain. She went on to develop Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, and had a heart attack before she was diagnosed with “excruciatingly painful” endometriosis, then cervical cancer for which she had to have a hysterectomy. For all of this, she needed pain medication. But once opioid hysteria kicked in, Amanda’s doctors decided to cut her methadone treatment down to nothing in 3 days time, resulting in a horrible withdrawal experience and a suicide attempt when she could no longer handle the pain.

How does Amanda Marie survive? Kratom isn’t the only answer, of course, but “Kratom has been a life saver for me,” says Amanda. “And I mean that in a very serious way, because if it wasn’t for kratom, I’d fear to think of where I’d be now.”
