Kratom TeaWhile many people like the “toss and wash” method of kratom consumption, making it into a tea is a much more pleasant experience for many. The taste can be pretty bitter, but with the right preparation it’s comparable to an extremely potent green tea flavor.

Start by measuring out between 1 teaspoon of powdered leaf. Using an extract is not recommended, as the hot water may break down some of the alkaloids, there’s no added benefit, and it’s more expensive. Boil 2-4 cups of water. The more water you use, the less strong the flavor, but as long as you drink it all the effects will be exactly the same.

Put the kratom powder into a large cup or container with a pour lip, and pour the boiling water on top. Stir until it is thoroughly mixed. Be sure there aren’t any clumps of dry powder. I highly recommend adding sugar, artificial sweeter, or honey (honey works the best to cut the bitterness), and stir. If using artificial sweetener, 2 packets is a good starting amount. Let sit until cool (at least 15 minutes), stirring occasionally.

Once cooled, allow the powder to settle to the bottom. Pour the tea into a drinking cup, and enjoy! At this point you can add more sweetener to taste, or add water or ice cubes to dilute the flavor. As long as you drink all of the liquid, the effects will be the same.

Do caps affect your liver like a scoop in a drink vs tea?

I use 1/2 tablespoon of white meang da. Use spring globe mixer in shaker cup. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Microwave on high for 30 seconds only. Let stand overnight so that powder settles to the bottom. Use a Melitta pour over filter holder to strain out the powder. Mix with honey, sugar, to taste or just drink straight it doesn’t matter. Tastes like a different strain of coffee. Takes almost a full hour to feel full affects. Mild euphoria and reduced pain

Uhh, pro tip – do not use boiling water (Use hot water, but no bubbling/boiling water) at all. EVER. Boiling water will kill all of the alkaloids very quickly, making it nothing more than bitter tasting, non-beneficial, tea. Be sure that if you must boil water, do NOT add the kratom until it has completely stopped bubbling, and is still hot, but like I said, not hot enough to boil! This is super important!

Doesn’t heat break down some of the alkoloids?

  5. I’ve tried making kratom tea (strained) 50 different ways & not a single one has ANY effect. I’m convinced this plant has to be boiled for like 2 hours to release the active alkaloids or something because even when I use massive amounts of powder, lemon juice & varying temperatures/times, it produces no effect unless I leave the sludge in. And the sludge gives me gastritis/esophagitis.

When I say “massive amounts,” I’m talking several ounces of kratom to make one batch of tea. And it does nothing. Meanwhile, one plastic spoonful of the powder in some cold water lasts all day & has moderate opiate-like effects. I’m convinced people are getting placebo effects from this strained tea.

this isn’t an answer to all your problems but try capping it! Fixes the throat problem for me at least. 000 caps are cheap and it’s a decent way to regulate dose

What do you mean by capping it?
